Welcome to the Daily JAM

Each day I will send you an inspirational email that will take you Just A Minute (JAM) to read. My writing stems from a love of yoga and stoicism. It is my hope to help you live every day with greater purpose, love, patience and awe in the magic of being a human being.

Hi, I’m Sarah Gardner. I’m super interested in learning about Stoicism and Yogic philosophy. I find that life can be very complicated but when you view the world through the lens of these guiding principles life can actually be very simple.

I’m in the process of writing my fist book (oh, gosh, I just put that out into the world!) and my intention with the Daily JAM is to share many of the ideas that I am learning along the way.

My love of yoga began 18 years ago and has been an instrumental part of my life. My teacher Jacqui Bonwell continues to inspire me and guide me. I practice and meditate daily, I teach yoga, and my most important yoga contribution to date is starting the non-profit Yoga Reaches Out (YRO) 12 years ago. YRO is now a signature event for Boston Children’s Hospital where over 1,000 yogis come together for an annual Yogathon at Gillette Stadium to raise funds for the hospital.

Stoicism is my newest passion. I was introduced to the ideas by my CrossFit coach and mentor, Ben Bergeron. He guided me to the books of Ryan Holiday. I have become a sponge that simply can’t soak up enough.

I have found that Yoga and Stoic philosophy collide together in such a beautiful way that I am compelled to share them with you in my future book and in this blog.

It’s funny how life often comes full circle. My undergraduate degree was in English literature and, until now, it really hasn’t played a huge role in my life. But everything is connected and my Masters degree in Health and Fitness opened doors to explore yoga, CrossFit, nutrition, and more which led me back to reading (some of my favorite books are in the middle picture) and writing.

I live in Wayland, Massachusetts, with my husband Geoff, of 24 years, and our two incredible children, Will (20) and Emma (18). Our number one companion is Mocha who is the cutest Bernedoodle on earth.

I would love for you to join me on this journey.
